Scott Goolsby is the newest Devereux Leadership Award Winner!

Glenwood Hot Springs Resort’s Devereux Leadership Award winner for Fall, 2022 is Scott Goolsby.  The Devereux Leadership Award is presented to an employee who demonstrates exceptional leadership actions, accomplishments, and behaviors that align with our vision, mission and values.  Scott joined the Pool Maintenance Department on March 1, 2021 and quickly became someone that could be completely trusted to handle complex pool mechanical issues while also demonstrating an ability to lead other employees.  Everyone appreciates his great example of what it is to be a personable, dependable co-worker and an outstanding leader for others to look up to.

Scott graduated from Carthage High School in East Texas in 1984 and attended Panola Junior College.  In 1986, he began working for the City of Carthage as an equipment operator for the Water Department.  During his tenure, he was promoted to Crew foreman and received multiple certifications relating to water and water treatment.  Scott is certified as a Class C Water Operator, Class C Wastewater Operator, Class ll Water Distribution Operator, has a chlorinator maintenance certification, a pump and motor maintenance certification and is also a customer service inspector.  In 2001, he was promoted to Water and Wastewater Superintendent.  During this time period, he also operated two additional water utility services.  In 2010, he retired from the City of Carthage with 24 years of service. Scott also attended the East Texas Police Academy, receiving his Texas Peace Officers certification and served as a Deputy Constable for Panola County for 12 years.  In 2010, he moved to Colorado and began working as a Construction Superintendent in the Piceance Creek area and also started his own oilfield consulting business, which grew to 16 consultants at the peak of the oil boom.  When he saw an opportunity to be closer to his family, he joined our Pool Maintenance team here at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort.

Scott was presented with a beautiful blown glass trophy, a framed certificate, a letter from Kevin Flohr – Director of Operations, and a $250 check from Glenwood Hot Springs Resort. When presented with his award, Scott said, “It’s a pleasure to work with all the staff at the pool.  I enjoy the challenge of keeping the equipment up and running every day.  I look forward to the challenges ahead with all the new construction.  I appreciate the confidence that Brian and upper management have in me.  Thanks to everyone that made this possible to achieve this award.”

Scott, we truly appreciate your work ethic and positive attitude here at the Glenwood Hot Springs Resort and we THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE!
