Enjoy rides, cave tours, and all sorts of activities and make sure to bundle up like you are getting ready to ski, board and play outside.

Speaking of skiing and snowboarding, the planned opening day for Sunlight Mountain Resort is Dec. 9. If you want to get in the mood to ski earlier, attend the Winter Stoke Film Festival featuring the new Warren Miller film “Day Maker” at The Vaudeville Revue on Thanksgiving Eve, Nov. 23 at 6 p.m.

Sunlight Mountain Resort is the perfect mountain offering a variety of terrain for beginners, intermediates, and experts. The pinnacle is when more than half a million Christmas lights are turned on simultaneously and a fireworks show is launched from the top of the hotel around 7 p.m.

The holiday season isn’t complete without Glenwood Vaudeville Revue’s Holiday Show, Nov. 18 – Jan. 7. The show is presented on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings and most Thursdays, as well as additional dates from Christmas to New Year’s. This two-hour family fun dinner theater show features professional talent performing a variety of comedy skits, jokes, high-energy dance numbers, unique novelty songs, and original comedic presentations that are guaranteed to entertain. Meals can be purchased separately and are prepared by Glenwood Springs restaurants.

Additional opportunities to enjoy great music include Mountain Madrigal Singers’ Christmas Concerts on Dec. 2, 4 and 10 at Glenwood Church of Christ, and Aspen Choral Society’s performance of Handel’s “Messiah”  on Dec. 10 at Mountain View Church.
