Glenwood Hot Springs Resort Awards 2021 Higher Education Scholarships

Glenwood Hot Springs Resort Awards 2021 Higher Education Scholarships
Kobe Wild, Jeremy Bradshaw, Hailie Trujillo and Christian Vasquez are the newest recipients of the Glenwood Hot Springs Resort Higher Education Scholarship, an annual endowment totaling $10,000.

For 26 years running, Glenwood Hot Springs Resort has helped young people achieve their dreams of improving their future through continued learning. The Glenwood Hot Springs Resort Higher Education Scholarship was created in 1995 to financially assist goal-oriented individuals attend accredited institutions of higher learning, including four-year colleges and universities, community colleges or trade schools. To date, Glenwood Hot Springs Resort has given away $232,000 to deserving young people. Many exceptional students presented applications to be evaluated.

Kobe Wild, Jeremy Bradshaw and Christian Vasquez will each receive $3,000 awards and Hailie Trujillo willreceive a $1,000 award. The scholarship is payable per semester over the course of four years and require seach candidate to be a student in good standing.

Kobe is a Coal Ridge High School senior who will attend the University of Colorado in Boulder. He plans to explore all of his academic options before settling on a major. Kobe is a familiar face on the Pool deck, where he has worked as a Pool Attendant and Lifeguard since 2019. In addition to working at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort, Kobe has participated in football, basketball and track which have taught him strong leadership skills. He has also been an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes all four years of high school, all while maintaining a very high GPA. Kobe is the son of Patrick and Monica Wild.

Jeremy is a senior at Glenwood Springs High School and plans to attend Idaho State University where he will study Paramedic Science. Jeremy chose this university because this program is not one that is widely offered. He has worked as a Lifeguard and Team Lead here at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort since 2019. Outside of work and school, Jeremy volunteers with the Sunlight Ski Patrol, responding to on-mountain medical emergencies and assisting with mountain safety. He is also an involved student who demonstrates leadership qualities as a member of the Glenwood Springs Fire Department Explorer program and the GSHS Varsity football team, all while achieving Academic Honor Roll. In 2019, Jeremy was awarded the Sunlight Ski Patrol Rookie of the Year. Jeremy is the son of Pete and Laura Bradshaw.

Christian is also a senior at Coal Ridge High School and will be attending Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona where he will be studying Business Management and has also been offered an athletic scholarship, already making the cut for their very competitive cheerleading program. Christian has worked at the Glenwood Hot Springs Resort since last year as an Athletic Club Attendant and a Spa of the Rockies Attendant. Christian’s strong work ethic and determination lend itself to academic excellence and multiple accomplishments, including leading his cheerleading team as captain to three state titles and an academic All-State award. Christian is a role model for his peers with his talent, maturity and positive attitude. Christian is the son of Francisco Vasquez and Brandie Billings.

Hailie Trujillo is a Coal Ridge High School Senior and is also dual enrolled at Colorado Mountain College where she is working on a degree in Digital Media. Hailie is currently a lifeguard at Glenwood Hot Springs Resort. Hailie has been involved in Student Council and school athletics for multiple years, while maintaining academic excellence, and being a versatile and talented individual, Hailie also already received a certificate in basic welding and cutting. She will be participating in the Skills USA Welding & Fabrication competition later this summer. Hailie is the daughter of Terry Halvorson and Karen Hamilton.
