Water to the Fire

I began visiting Glenwood Hot Springs as a boy along with my parents and siblings back in the 1980’s. I had no idea then that I would develop such a special connection to the sacred Storm King Mountain that overlooks it.

I became a Colorado firefighter in 1998 and have fought many wild land fires since then. That has provided me with undying appreciation for those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to protect your precious area. Now when I visit the hot springs with my own daughter (who LOVES the water slides), I look up to the mountain and remember what those 14 individuals unselfishly did in 1994 so that new generations for decades to come could enjoy the hot springs and all that surrounds it.
