Spirits and Steam

I cried when we sold our cabin years ago on the shores of Grand Lake, not even going to the closing, and last week I came across a booklet about the history of the place.

It talks about the spirits rising up out of the water in swirling columns creating eerie fog tornadoes, just like your steam tornadoes that occasionally rise up out of your pools. I cannot describe the peace, the warm fuzzy feeling, and the warmth, transporting me back to the past that you bring me. You may not have the canoes with the spirits of the women and children in its depths, but the feeling of tranquility is the same.

Glenwood, you are at your finest right at sunset with the stunning reflections in your waters. You positively shine after dark, soaking in the hot tub with large gentle snow flakes disappearing beneath the surface. You give me an “oh ahh” moment the second my foot hits the water, when Spring is in the air. And I especially love Fall, when a gently breeze brings in a few red and gold leaves to swirl on the surface, just waiting for me to catch them. The view of the mountains with storm clouds building, heading our way - is absolutely stunning!

Bring it on, I say, I’m at Glenwood! If this isn’t love what is?
