Romance and relaxation

On February 22 & 23,1982, in celebration of our six month wedding anniversary, my wife and I invited my best friend and his wife to join us for a two-night stay in Glenwood Springs. We rode the Rio Grande passenger train round-trip from Denver to Glenwood Springs and spent two-nights at the Hot Springs Lodge and pool. (Train and hotel receipts attached.) When we first stayed at the Lodge, the rooms were located where the upper level of the fitness center is currently located.

As I recall, the shared bathroom was down the hall from the sleeping rooms. This was the first of many special occasions my wife and I have enjoyed at the Lodge and pool. We've always enjoyed the accommodations and hospitality of the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge and Pool and we continue to find the facility to be among our favorite romantic and relaxing get-away spots. Our favorite time of the year to visit is mid-winter, as the warm water on our bodies is relaxing and the ice on our hair is exhilarating.

Obviously in 1982, our friends found the location to be a great romantic get-away spot too, as their son was born exactly 9 months after staying at the hotel. If this wasn't a life changing event, I don't know what is.
