Dear Glenwood Hot Springs, It was 2008, my wife and I just got married in Nebraska. We sat down and thought about where we wanted to spend our honeymoon.
I grew up spending a lot of time in the mountains of Colorado, but my wife had never been. So we decided to spend our honeymoon in the mountains. We looked at the map and just randomly chose Glenwood Springs. After the 10 hour drive we pulled into Glenwood. It was such an amazing town. We found the place called The Hot Springs Lodge and chose to spend our honeymoon there. Not even knowing about the Hot Springs Pool. We checked into the Lodge and was told about the Pool. That night we decided to go down…and Oh My Goodness! WE FELL IN LOVE WITH IT ALL! It touched our hearts and soul! We spent every morning and every evening in the Pool and Hot Tub. We also went to the morning breakfast and it was also amazing.
Years go by and we have spent every single summer and Christmas there for two weeks each time. Years after our honeymoon trip, my wife and I decided to share our “Happy Place” with our two boys. The moment they rode into town they first said, Dad did your fart? LOL…No! It’s the Hot Springs! Oh ok they said. Once they stepped foot in the Pool and Hot Tub you could tell on their faces that their hearts melted just like my wife and I’s did years before! They were in love as well as us!
So after that trip they have come with us every single time! NOW, every single time we pull into town they smell the air and say…We Are Home!! We have brought friends and Sister to visit. And even this last Christmas we brought my Mom and she look at us and said…I get it now…This place is wonderful! My wife and I even sneak away from Nebraska and spend weekends in Glenwood. It’s never enough time but any time is better than no time there. Our hearts truly belong in Glenwood Springs and The Hot Springs Pool! It has become our second home. Some day it will become our permanent home!
We just love it so much! We all tear up when we have to leave and head back to Nebraska. We have even become friends with such a wonderful friend that works at the grill at the hot springs pool. Halana Padgett is such an amazing person! We love her so much! She has become family to us now after all these years. We’ve known her from the moment she started working there. We’re so thankful for the Hot Springs Pool Grill, it gave us the opportunity to meet Halana. She is such a wonderful person and deserves the world! We want to thank the Hot Springs Pool and Lodge, for giving us such wonderful memories. We will continue to make many many more there! Thank You!
