My Dad’s spirit lives on at GHS

My Dad was a Colorado native and Glenwood Hot Springs was his happy place. He could dive off the high board, soak in the hot pool, bring quarters to start the whirlpool massage, and share his love with my Mom, my brother, and me.

We went every summer to GHS and it became my favorite place too. I remember my banana shaped float, and soft serve ice cream. My Dad putting us on his shoulders and launching us into the water.

My Dad was always relaxed and happy at the hot springs - and I have more than 10 years of memories! My Dad passed away in 2001 and I now live in Chicago. GHS is now my happy place and I have taken friends and family there through the years. Most of the time I go by myself and enjoy a weekend filled with memories. I see my Dad everywhere and feel very close to his spirit through those memories.

I wish I had children of my own to share this special place - but it still allows me to feel as happy and excited as I did as a kid each time I arrive. Thanks Dad and GHS for a lifetime of memories!
