Home Away from Home

Glenwood Springs became a family tradition when my grandparents honeymooned there in the fall of 1951.

Once they had children, they regularly brought them and my great grandmother back to the pool as an annual summer pilgrimage. No summer seems complete without a trip to stay the Hot Springs Lodge.

The town of Glenwood, but most specifically the pool hold many years of happy memories for my family. Glenwood Springs is a very special cross section of important Colorado and family history for me. My family was excited to bring my cousin’s young children up to the pool for the first time last year, which felt especially poignant after weathering the worst of the pandemic.

I feel very lucky that my grandparents discovered such a special place to share with us, and that it has remained an important tradition to soak in the water and make new memories whenever we can.
